How To Feed Your Baby As They Age

Your baby is just learning to chew when he or she is six months old. Well-mashed foods or oatmeal are good choices for their first foods because they are soft and easy to swallow. Fun fact: watery oatmeal is actually less nutritious than if you let it cook until the water is reduced. Cook it until it’s thick enough to not run off the spoon to make it more nutritious.
Feed your infant when you notice them placing their hands to their mouths, which is an indication that they’re hungry. Begin by giving your infant two to three spoonfuls of soft food twice a day after cleaning your hands. Their stomachs are small at this age, so they can only eat modest portions at each meal. As your baby grows, their stomach also grows and they can eat more food with each meal.
6–8 Months Old
Your baby should continue to receive the same amount of breastmilk as she consumes more solid foods. In addition to that, feed your child half a cup of soft food two to three times a day from the age of 6–8 months. Except for honey, which they shouldn’t have until they’re a year old, your baby can eat anything. You might begin to include a healthy snack between meals, such as mashed bananas.

9–11 Months Old
Your baby can start eating half a cup of food three to four times a day, including a healthy snack, when he or she is 9–11 months old. Instead of mashing soft foods, you can now cut them into little bits. Your child may even begin to consume food with their fingers. Continue to feed your kid whenever he or she is hungry. Each meal should be simple to prepare and nutritious for your infant. Make the most of every bite.
Energy and nutritionally rich foods are required. Along with grains and potatoes, your kid should eat a variety of vegetables and fruits, lentils and seeds, a little amount of energy-rich oil or fat, and most importantly, meats like dairy, eggs, meat, fish, and chicken every day. Your kid will have the best chance of acquiring all the nutrients he requires if they eat a variety of meals every day. Don’t force your kid to eat something new if he or she refuses or spits it out. Try again in a few days. Don’t panic when your child doesn’t like something, just try to slowly introduce it to them in different ways.
Some mothers prefer not to breastfeed or can’t breastfeed. So, your baby will need to eat more frequently if you aren’t nursing them. To receive all of the nutrition their body requires, they’ll have to rely on other foods, including baby milk formula.
